The Story And Rules Behind This Campaign
King Charles de la Tete d'Or III was called the Sun King because it was said his lifestyle was almost godly.
The Sun King was a despotic tryant who died after many years of rule. A revolt big enough to overthrow him never actually happened but this is a "what if" campaign.
King Charles de la Tete d'Or III corrupted the noblity and treated his subjects harshly. No Knight brave enough to speak up about his tyranny was left alive and the others were bribed or intimidated into service to the Sun King. However, in this campaign, a Knight is brave enough to speak out and smart enough to stay alive. This Knight is the leader of the Revolutionaries, and the Revolutionary player must protect him because if he dies, the uprising will fail.
The Knight gathered some followers and they are now set on bringing down the decadent King.
RULES:
- If at any point during the first four skirmishes the main Revolutionary Character dies, his troops will automatically flee as if they had failed a Rout test, and the Sun King player will win the campaign.
- The Sun King player will win under these circumstances:
- The Sun King player wins two skirmishes in a row, in this case the uprising loses its steam and falls apart.
- The Sun King wins the final battle. The revolt collapses as the entire Revolutionary force was in that battle.
- The Revolutionary Character dies (See above), leaderless and beaten, the uprising is finished. This rule does not apply to the last battle.
- The Revolutionary player will win under these circumstances:
- The Revolutionary player slays the Sun King in the final battle, the government will collapse and the Sun King's noble son, Louen, will be made King.
- The Sun King flees from the final battle and the Revolutionary player wins or draws the battle by Victory Points, the Sun King is never found but his government is overthrown and Louen is put in as King.
- The players will be restricted in what troop types they can use in a battle, exactly how they will be restricted is described in the scenario itself.
- The Sun King does not appear in the game until the last battle, but the Revolutionary Character is in each battle, he starts as a Knight Of The Realm Champion and as the battles progress he becomes a Paladin.
- The Revolutionary Character does not carry any wounds he suffers from one battle to the next, it is assumed he heals up beforehand.
- The Revolutionary player will be restricted in what he can take if he loses previous battles.
